Maintain Even-Toned, Radiant Skin

Freckles are incredibly common, with over 1.5 billion people estimated to have them worldwide. However, they can also be a cosmetic concern for many patients. What Are Freckles?

Freckles are tiny, localized dark spots where the skin overproduces melanin. Most importantly, they are harmless and do not point to any health condition. People with fairer skin colors tend to develop noticeable freckles after sun exposure . However, anyone can develop them, and many individuals may not like how they make their skin look.

Our Freckles Removal Treatment Options

Whether you have a few dozen freckles or hundreds, options exist to help restore even pigmentation. Dr. Ohara Aivaz provides freckle removal using one or more techniques, depending on your goals and your skin’s needs.

  • Laser Treatments: Uses a precise laser system to break down pigmentation in the skin.

  • Chemical Peels: Available in variable strengths and formulas to match your aesthetic skin goals.

  • IPL: A non-ablative light treatment that can help even out skin tone.

Which Option Is Right for Me?

The color, number, and size of your freckles can all play a role in determining your optimal treatment type. Additionally, Dr. Aivaz evaluates your skin health and tone to ensure you are matched with a safe, appropriate treatment. When you schedule your consultation, you can begin to explore treatment options. Each procedure plan is a custom-made for you and the result of an in-depth discussion between you and Dr. Aivaz. Each plan takes into account your unique needs and the exact goals you would like to achieve.

What Does the Treatment Entail?

Each patient’s treatment process will vary slightly due to the tailored nature of treatment. However, a general outline usually includes:

  • A complete evaluation of your skin and medical history to match you with the best treatment option.

  • Coming into the office for your first treatment session. This can take between 30 and 60 minutes for most patients. But it can vary, depending on the treatment type.

  • Letting your skin heal from the treatment (about 1 to 2 weeks for most patients).

  • Returning to the office for your next session after about 1 month.

  • Finishing your treatment regimen and seeing your final results.

Treatment Results

Each treatment type creates gradual improvements in your skin. Seeing full results may require more than one treatment session, especially for darker freckles.

After 2 to 4 treatments, patients can expect to see a significant reduction in freckle visibility. Many patients will see extremely clear skin and even skin that fully matches their goals. Even patients with darker freckles will see notable improvements, though significantly dark ones may not entirely disappear.
