Personalized Care for Clearer Skin

The health and appearance of your skin rely upon numerous factors, which is why there is no one-size-fits-all acne treatment. Instead, the best results are achieved by building a personalized acne treatment plan with a dermatologist. We look at each element of your lifestyle, from your diet to your skin’s micro-environment. Then Dr. Ohara Aivaz builds a treatment plan tailored to your individual situation and needs. Our center in Beverly Hills gives you the opportunity to treat active acne and perform acne scar removal to restore your skin.

Dermatologist-Approved Acne Care

Many surgeons and doctors may offer acne care, but dermatologists have spent their life training to achieve the utmost expertise in the skin. Their depth of knowledge about the skin and its complexities allows for more personalized treatments for your skin’s unique needs. Our acne-related care is comprised of two approaches: treating active acne and treating the results of acne (i.e., acne scars). In both cases, our goal is to give patients clear, vibrant skin that they will love seeing in the mirror.

Acne Treatment for Teens:

Many teens struggle with finding ways to manage acne on their own, so professional treatment can feel almost like a miracle. Dr. Aivaz’s personalized approach ensures that when you are here, you feel seen, welcomed, and (of course) treated. Pediatric acne treatment can make a world of difference during the adolescent years and give patients back a sense of ownership over their own skin and body.

Which Acne Treatment Is Right for Me?

Each patient has a unique skin micro-environment. From the bacteria that naturally live on it to the amount of oil production, multiple factors contribute to acne breakouts. As a board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Ohara Aivaz looks at each factor that contributes to your situation and builds a treatment plan accordingly. In short, what works for one patient will not work for another one.

What Is an Acne Treatment Session Like?

Acne treatment sessions can vary significantly, depending on your treatment plan and skin needs. Generally, treatment sessions are quick and comfortable, rarely lasting more than 30 minutes. However, some of the common treatments for acne or acne scarring include:

Acne Extractions: Quick and comfortable removal of blackheads followed by a light chemical peel.

Laser or Light Treatment: Precise application of light-based energy is effective for certain types of acne and scars.

TCA CROSS: Stands for Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) Chemical Reconstruction of Skin Scars (CROSS). Ideal for elevating depressed acne scars.

Pharmaceutical: Some medications like isotretinoin (brand name Accutane) can be taken to improve acne over time.

After Your Treatment: Seeing Results

Whether you are seeking acne treatment or acne scar removal, the biggest question on your mind is likely: when will I see results? While the most honest answer is it depends, we know that it is hardly satisfying.

After the consultation process, Dr. Aivaz can give you a better overview of the timeline you can expect for your results. However, the good news is that most patients can begin seeing improvements within days to weeks of their first treatment session.

Acne Treatment: Treatment regimens can vary, but most often significant results can start to be seen within 1 to 3 months. The number and frequency of treatments can vary.

Acne Scar Removal: Between 2 and 6 sessions are usually needed, whether for chemical peels, TCA cross, or laser treatments. Full results are seen after completing your full regimen, but you can expect improvements following each session.
